PROJECT PERFORMANCE

Our technicians started by identifying the 50+ year old wiring risers inside the 6-floor double-wide building and temporarily installing the new lobby panels in the basement space. Working on two-apartment lines at a single time, dual-crews started replacing the old black and white intercom units within shareholder units with new, state of the art Comelit intercom units. Remodeler plates used on all units to provide a clean, finished look in the apartments. Once all units were complete, we re-located the lobby panels from the basement to building front doors, installing into the marble façade with custom stainless-steel backplates. On the inside, we fabricated custom brass moldings to match the existing brass doors in order to hide the new wiring required. Additionally, we eliminated the vestibule door intercoms and the wiring that was taped across the lobby marble walls for a clean appearance. Lastly, we installed a (10) camera surveillance system both indoors & outdoors, and installed an (8) door access control system with (400) pre-programmed key fobs, packaged in individual envelopes delivered ahead of time to all tenants.

CLIENT ADVANTAGE

Cosmic Fischer saved the co-op Board close to $150,000 dollars by utilizing the existing (50+ year old!) cabling in the building. A re-wire would have taken an additional 4-6 weeks at minimum, and caused significant damage to walls, slabs, and individual apartment interiors. We also integrated the access control, camera, and lock work into the project, eliminating the need for further sub-contractors. Lastly, our ability to provide out-of-the-box solutions led to a truly beautiful, finished product. The custom brass molding we manufactured to the exact finish/grain of their current brass doors was the most elegant solution in the attempt to maintain the look of the lobby. There is no shortage of companies out there who can run a wire and connect hardware, but CFL’s deep history of products & sourcing allowed for a seamless project, start-to-finish.
