4 Weeks

PROJECT PERFORMANCE

Our technicians began by identifying the existing cabling structure for the old access control (fob) system. We then ported those cables to the new system, and expanded upon the system to a total of (16) door readers via Linear’s eMerge Elite platform of access control hardware. The major component of our work was to replace three (3) doors & jambs with heavy duty 16-gauge steel doors from Pioneer. This required pre-running all wiring into the door jambs and then cementing them in place. Our final door jamb installation required removal of 3HR rated CMU walls and the installation of a steel lintel. Lastly, we tied in all the new panic exit hardware, electrified locksets, multiple alarm systems, and finalized all additional door repairs (all Allegion products). We provided 750 pre-programmed HID credentials to building residents and staff, with each resident receiving an individualized envelope with their keys for easy distribution. This was all completed ahead of the system switchover. Programming, testing, verification, and training provided to all critical users.

CLIENT ADVANTAGES

The key advantage to the client was the integration of the complete project scope by a single company (our specialty!). Our ability to handle the masonry work, door and hardware installation, low voltage components, and additional repairs saved the client thousands of dollars and valuable time that would have gone into coordination between multiple sub-contractors. Our General Contractors’ license allowed us to pull the permits required to do the work, eliminating the need for an overall GC & associated costs. Lastly, a single project management engineer was involved in all initial technical aspects and on-site installation ensured a seamless project installation.
